Instructions:
1. Cook the Noodles:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the egg noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Brown the Meat:
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef (or turkey) over medium heat until browned and cooked through.
- Add the diced onion and cook for an additional 3–4 minutes until softened. Drain excess fat if needed.
3. Make the Sauce:
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is combined.
4. Assemble the Casserole:
- Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the beef mixture and stir to coat the noodles evenly with the sauce.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
5. Add Cheese and Topping:
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
- In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers) with the melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture over the cheese layer.
6. Bake the Casserole:
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
7. Serve and Enjoy:
- Remove from the oven and let the casserole cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions for a pop of color, if desired.
