
Free Crochet Masterclass: Plush Teddy Bear by Kseniya Pilipieko (@kseniya_igrushki)
In this masterclass, you will learn how to crochet a plush Teddy Bear using the amigurumi technique. You can use any plush yarn such as Himalaya Dolphin Baby, YarnArt Dolce, or similar. For the patches, you will need a piece of felt.
Finished size: approximately 28-29 cm.
Materials and Tools Needed
- Plush yarn:
- Himalaya Dolphin Baby (gray, 1 skein)
- White (for the snout)
- Pink (for the paws)
- Cotton/Acrylic yarn:
- Pink (for the nose)
- Black (for seams and eyebrows)
- Crochet hook: 4 mm
- Thread for embroidery (for the face)
- Safety eyes (12 mm)
- Toy stuffing
- Felt (3.5 x 3.5 cm)
- Needle for sewing the details

Upper Paws (Make 2)
The paws should be loosely stuffed as you crochet, but not completely filled.
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in KA
- Rnd 2: inc x 6 (12)

Crochet 5 more sc, fold the paw in half, and crochet 6 sc through both sides.
Lower Paws (Make 2)
- Ch 5 with a contrasting color
- In the second chain from the hook, crochet 3 sc, 2 sc along the chain, 3 sc in the last chain, 2 sc along the other side of the chain (10)

In the next round, you will need to incorporate the upper paws. To do this, crochet a few stitches so that the working yarn is at the back. Mark 6 central stitches on each side of the body with markers or contrasting yarn. Leave 3 sc between the paws. Crochet sc until the first marker, then follow the pattern:
- Rnd 21: 6 sc through both body and paws, 3 sc along the chest, 6 sc through both body and paws, 3 sc along the back (18)

Carefully stuff the bottom of the head and insert the safety eyes between rounds 8 and 9. Leave 3 visible stitches between the eyes.

Finish crocheting and leave a long tail for sewing.
Tail

Assembling and Finishing
- Attach the snout to the head (at the level of round 7).
- Sew the nose onto the snout, leaving a small space from the edge.
- Optionally, create a slight indentation on the snout for added detail, but the bear looks great even without it.
- Sew the ears and tail onto the body.
5. Embroider eyebrows and stitches on the face or any other spots you want to add detail. - Attach a small felt square to the belly. Don’t worry about symmetry with the stitches, they can be a little playful.
