Amigurumi Bunny in a Dress Free Pattern

Free Crochet Masterclass: Bunny in a Dress by @detki_store_toy

In this free masterclass, you will learn how to crochet a bunny in a dress with a bow using plush yarn. Any plush yarn suitable for amigurumi can be used for this project. The author recommends Himalaya Dolphin Baby yarn. The ears are crocheted with a larger hook. The nose can be crocheted, embroidered, bought pre-made, or cut from felt. The dress is not removable — the skirt is crocheted directly onto the body.

Crochet Pattern for Bunny in a Dress

Long Ears (2 parts)

Crochet the ears using the main color and a 8 mm hook with double crochet (dc):

  1. 6 KA
  2. 6 inc (12)
  3. (1 dc, inc) x 6 (18)
    4-6. 18 dc (3 rows)
  4. (dec, 7 dc) x 2 (16)
  5. 16 dc
  6. (dec, 6 dc) x 2 (14)
  7. 14 dc
  8. (dec, 5 dc) x 2 (12)
  9. 12 dc
  10. (dec, 4 dc) x 2 (10)
  11. 10 dc
  12. (dec, 3 dc) x 2 (8)
  13. 8 dc

Secure the yarn with a slip stitch, cut the thread, and leave a tail for sewing.

Upper Paws (2 parts)

Crochet using the main color:

  1. 6 KA
  2. (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9)
    3-5. 9 sc (3 rows)
Change the yarn color to match the dress.
    6-9. 9 sc (3 rows)
  3. Dec, 7 sc (8)
  4. 8 sc

Slightly stuff the paw, fold it, and crochet 4 sc (pay attention that the color change for the dress is at the back of the hand). Secure the yarn, cut the thread, and leave a short tail (no need for a long tail). We will attach the upper paws to the body. When joining the color change, crochet through the stitches themselves.

Tail

Crochet the tail using the main color:

  1. 6 KA
  2. 6 inc (12)
  3. 12 sc
  4. (1 sc, dec) x 4 (8)

Secure the yarn with a slip stitch, stuff lightly, and leave a tail for sewing.

Face

Use Alize Softy white yarn for the face, crocheting with 2 strands of yarn:

  1. 4 v.p.
Then continue crocheting in the second chain from the hook.
  2. Inc, 1 sc, 4 sc (in the first chain stitch), 1 sc, inc (10)
  3. 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 2, 2 sc, inc (14)
  4. 2 sc, inc, 1 sc, (2 sc, inc) x 2, 3 sc, inc (18)
  5. 18 sc

Secure the yarn with a slip stitch, cut the thread, and leave a tail for sewing.

Bow

  1. Make a KA, crochet 4 v.p., 3 dc in the KA, 5 v.p., ss in the KA, 5 v.p., 3 dc in the KA, 5 v.p., ss in the KA.
  2. Tighten the KA, cut the thread, and wrap the center of the bow a few times, pulling it tight.

Legs (2 parts)

  1. 6 KA
  2. 6 inc (12)
    3-8. 12 sc (6 rows)

For the first leg, secure the yarn with a slip stitch and cut. For the second leg, leave the yarn attached and continue with the body.

Body

Make a v.p. and join the legs. Crochet 1 sc in the slip stitch of the first leg.

  1. 11 sc on the first leg, 1 more sc in the slip stitch of the first leg (to avoid a gap), 1 sc in the v.p., 1 sc in the stitch from which the v.p. was made, 12 sc on the second leg, 1 sc in the v.p., 1 sc. Place a marker (28).
  2. 5 sc, inc, 3 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 3 sc, inc, 8 sc (33).
  3. 33 sc
    4-7. 33 sc (4 rows)
  4. 11 sc, dec, 3 sc, dec, 3 sc, dec, 10 sc (30)
  5. 30 sc (Here, I recommend stuffing the legs)
  6. (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
  7. 24 sc
  8. (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)

Now begin crocheting the arms.

  1. 4 sc, 4 sc with hand, 5 sc, 4 sc with hand, 1 sc (18)
  2. 18 sc
    Stuff the body.
  3. (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)

Head

  1. 12 inc (24)
  2. (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
  3. (6 sc, inc) x 4, 2 sc (34)
Stuff the body to the top.
    4-8. 34 sc (5 rows)
  4. (6 sc, dec) x 4, 2 sc (30)
  5. (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)

Stuff the head lightly, then begin attaching the face. Sew along the sides and top. Place the eyes clearly above the white face so they slightly overlap, approximately between rows 7 and 8 of the head. The distance between the eyes should be 3 sc. After inserting the eyes, stuff the head:

  1. (2 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
  2. (1 sc, inc) x 6 (11)
  3. 6 dec

Secure the yarn with a slip stitch, cut, leaving a small tail. Close the head: pass the yarn through the front loops of the first 6 stitches, tighten, and secure the yarn. Tuck the tail into the head. Stuff the face slightly and sew it to the head.

Assembly and Finishing

Start by crocheting the skirt. Crochet dc in the back loops of the first row of the dress. Secure the yarn, crochet 2 v.p., and then crochet increases in each stitch. Next, crochet ss, 2 v.p. to start the next row, and crochet (1 sc, inc) to the end. Secure with ss.

Attach the ears, tail, and bow. Embroider the nose.
