In this tutorial, you will learn how to crochet a keychain duck head called LaLaFanFan. This plush duck keychain is simple and quick to make, perfect for beginners. The head is crocheted using amigurumi techniques, and you can choose between two ways to make the beak: crochet it from yarn or use a plastic toy beak.
The finished toy will be approximately 6 cm tall.

Crochet Keychain Duck LaLaFanFan: Step-by-Step Instructions
Head
- Round 1: 6 sc in KA (6)
- Round 2: 6 inc (12)
- Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
- Round 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
- Rounds 5-9: 24 sc (5 rounds)
- Round 10: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
Insert the eyes between rounds 7-8 with a distance of 3 sc.
- Round 11: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)
- Round 12: 6 dec (6)
Tighten the hole and hide the yarn end.
Headband (Chain for the Head)
- Make a chain of 25 ch.
Bow
- Make a slip knot and crochet 2 ch.
- Then crochet: 3 dc, 2 ch, sl st, and repeat: 2 ch, 3 dc, 2 ch, sl st.
- Connect the chain to form the bow, and attach it to the duck’s head by either sewing or gluing.
Beak
If you don’t have a plastic toy beak, you can crochet one using YarnArt Jeans with a 2 mm crochet hook:

Leave a long tail for sewing.
Cheeks (Make 2 pieces)
- Round 1: 6 sc in KA (6)

Assembly
- Attach the Beak: Sew the beak to the center of the duck’s face.
- Attach the Cheeks: Sew the cheeks on either side of the beak.
- Attach the Eyes: Position the eyes between rounds 7-8 on the head.
- Attach the Bow: Sew or glue the bow onto the top of the head.
- Add the Keychain: Attach the carabiner to the top of the head to make your keychain.
