In this tutorial, you will learn how to crochet a bull (Yarik) and a cow (Arisha) using amigurumi techniques. The calves are dressed in crochet outfits. The boy is dressed in pants, and the girl is dressed in a dress. You can use any semi-cotton or cotton yarn, such as YarnArt Jeans, Alize Cotton Gold, or Gazzal Baby Cotton. The clothing is non-removable and crocheted as part of the body. You can choose yarn colors to your liking or refer to the author’s photos for inspiration.

Materials & Tools:

  • Yarn: YarnArt Jeans (Main color 03, boots 26 or 64, pants 54, top 55 and 46, hands and horns 28)
  • 2mm crochet hook
  • 8mm safety eyes for toys
  • Toy stuffing
  • Stitch markers
  • Plastic for soles
  • Pins

Crochet Instructions for the Calf (Teleta)

Head:

Stuff the head as you crochet.

  1. Round 1: 6 sc in KA (6)
  2. Round 2: 6 inc (12)
  3. Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
  4. Round 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
  5. Round 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
  6. Round 6: (4 sc, inc) x 6 (36)
  7. Round 7: (5 sc, inc) x 6 (42)
    8-12. Rounds 8-12: 42 sc (5 rounds)
  8. Round 13: (6 sc, inc) x 6 (48)
  9. Round 14: 48 sc
  10. Round 15: (7 sc, inc) x 6 (54)
    16-17. Rounds 16-17: 54 sc
  11. Round 18: (7 sc, dec) x 6 (48)
  12. Round 19: 48 sc

Insert the eyes between rounds 14 and 15, 8 sc apart.

  1. Round 1: 6 vp, starting from the second chain from the hook: 4 sc, 3 sc in the last chain, turn the work, and crochet on the other side: 3 sc, inc (12)
  2. Round 2: inc, 3 sc, 3 inc, 3 sc, 2 inc (18)
  3. Round 3: sc, inc, 3 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 3, 3 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 2 (24)

Fasten off, leave the thread for sewing.

Hands (2 parts):

Stuff the lower part of the hands only, start crocheting with black yarn.

  4. Round 4: 15 sc in the back loops
    5-6. Rounds 5-6: 15 sc (2 rounds)
  5. Round 7: Beige yarn: (3 sc, dec) x 3 (12)
    8-12. Rounds 8-12: 12 sc (5 rounds)
  6. Round 13: Blue yarn: 12 sc in the back loops.
  7. Round 14: Blue yarn: 12 sc
  8. Round 15: Gray yarn: 12 sc
    16-17. Rounds 16-17: Blue yarn: 12 sc
  9. Round 18: Gray yarn: 12 sc
    19-20. Rounds 19-20: Blue yarn: 12 sc

Fold and crochet together 6 sc. Leave the thread for sewing.

Repeat the same for the second hand.

Body & Legs:

Stuff the parts as you go, starting with red yarn.

  1. Round 1: 6 vp, starting from the second chain from the hook: 4 sc, 3 sc in the last chain, turn the work, and crochet on the other side: 3 sc, inc (12)
  2. Round 2: inc, 3 sc, 3 inc, 3 sc, 2 inc (18)
  3. Round 3: sc, inc, 3 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 3, 3 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 2 (24)
  4. Round 4: 2 sc, inc, 3 sc, (2 sc, inc) x 3, 3 sc, (2 sc, inc) x 2 (30)

For the sole, outline the foot and cut out cardboard or plastic soles. Attach them to the feet.

  1. Round 5: 30 sc in the back loops
    6-7. Rounds 6-7: 30 sc (2 rounds)
  2. Round 8: 9 sc, 6 dec, 9 sc (24)
  3. Round 9: 8 sc, 4 dec, 8 sc (20)
  4. Round 11: 20 sc

Switch to beige yarn.

  1. Round 12: Work in the back loops: (8 sc, dec) x 2 (18)
    13-17. Rounds 13-17: 18 sc (5 rounds)

Switch to blue yarn.
