In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to crochet a plush bear using any soft plush yarn, such as Himalaya Dolphin Baby, YarnArt Dolce, NAKO Bonbon Panda Baby, or other similar yarns.
Materials and Tools
To crochet the bear, you will need the following materials:
- Plush yarn for the main color: Himalaya Dolphin Baby or YarnArt Dolce (1 skein)
- White plush yarn for the muzzle
- YarnArt Jeans in white and black (for facial features)
- Crochet hook: 3.5-4.0 mm
- Safety eyes: 14 mm
- Safety nose: 10 mm
- Stuffing for the toy
- Needle for sewing
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- KA – Magic ring (amigurumi)
- vp – Chain stitch
- sc – Single crochet (US)
- inc – Increase
- dec – Decrease

Step-by-Step Instructions for Crocheting the Plush Bear
1. Arms (2 pieces)
We crochet in rounds.
- Row 1: 9 sc in KA
- Row 2-3: 9 sc (2 rows)
- Row 4: (3 sc, 2 dec, 2 sc) = 7 sc
- Row 5-13: 7 sc (9 rows)
- Fold the arm and crochet 3 sc through both parts.
2. Ears (2 pieces)
We crochet in rounds.
- Row 1: 6 sc in KA
- Row 2: 6 inc = 12 sc
- Row 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 = 18 sc
- Row 4: 18 sc
- Fold the ear and crochet 9 sc through both parts.
3. Muzzle
- Row 1: 7 sc in KA
- Row 2: 7 inc = 14 sc
- Row 3: (1 sc, inc) x 7 = 21 sc
- Row 4: 10 sc, 2 inc, 9 sc = 23 sc
- Row 5: 23 sc

4. Tail
- Row 1: 6 sc in KA
- Row 2: 6 inc = 12 sc

5. Legs-Body-Head
Start with the legs:
- Row 1: 6 sc in KA
- Row 2: (1 sc, inc) x 3 = 9 sc
- Row 3-5: 9 sc (3 rows)
- Tie off the first leg, leave the yarn for the second leg, and crochet the second leg similarly. Don’t cut the yarn, and then make a chain of 3 vp.
- Row 6: 9 sc, 3 sc in vp, 9 sc, 3 sc in vp = 24 sc
- Row 7: (3 sc, inc) x 6 = 30 sc
- Row 8: (4 sc, inc) x 6 = 36 sc
- Row 9: (5 sc, inc) x 6 = 42 sc
- Row 10-14: 42 sc (5 rows)
- Row 15: 8 sc, dec, 18 sc, dec, 12 sc = 40 sc
- Row 16: (8 sc, dec) x 4 = 36 sc

Insert the safety eyes between rows 33-34, leaving a distance of 5-6 sc between them.
Finishing the Bear
- Sew on the muzzle and embroider the mouth and nose with black yarn.
- Stuff the body and head as you go along.
- Attach the ears, making sure they are positioned symmetrically.
- Sew on the arms and tail.
- Weave in all loose yarn ends to finish the bear.
