Free Crochet Pattern Elf

Free Crochet Pattern: Elf by Natalia Babko (@igrushkiotido)

Using this pattern, you can crochet a small elf. This amigurumi elf features striped clothing and a hat. For this project, you will need YarnArt Jeans yarn. Each color will require approximately 5-8 grams, and you can choose any shades you prefer. The ears and cheeks are tinted with pastel or blush. The toy can also be used as a keychain.

Finished size: approximately 10-12 cm.

Materials and Tools

  • YarnArt Jeans (approx. 5-8g of each color): #01 White, #68 Denim, #85 Orange, #51 Red, #07 Skin Tone
  • Crochet hook 1.75-2 mm
  • Safety eyes (6-7 mm)
  • Stuffing (fiberfill)
  • Stitch markers
  • Pins
  • Dry pastel for tinting
  • Needle for sewing parts
  • Scissors

Pattern Instructions

Arms (Make 2)

Start with skin tone:

  1. 6 sc in MR (6)
  2. 6 sc

Switch to red:

  1. BLO 6 sc
  2. 6 sc

Switch to white:

  1. 6 sc
  2. 6 sc

Switch to red:

  1. 6 sc

Switch to white:

  1. 6 sc
  2. 6 sc

Switch to red, fold the piece, and crochet 3 sc through both layers. Fasten off, do not stuff. Leave a tail for sewing if needed.

Ears (Make 2)

Using skin tone:

  1. 4 sc in MR (4)

  4. (inc, 2 sc) x 2 (8)
  5. (inc, 3 sc) x 2 (10)

Fold in half and crochet 6 sc through both layers. Fold again and crochet 3 sc. Fasten off and leave a tail.

Start with white:

For the first leg, crochet 3-4 sc as alignment stitches, fold in half, and crochet 4 sc through both layers. For the second leg, fold directly in half and crochet 4 sc through both layers.
