This free pattern allows you to crochet a fluffy llama using a combination of textured and cotton yarns. Most of the toy is crocheted with textured yarn, while the muzzle and paw tips are made with cotton. The scarf is knitted. Suitable yarns include Alize Softy and Alize Cotton Gold (or their equivalents).

Note: Experience with textured yarn (like Softy) is required!

Finished size: Approximately 30 cm


Materials and Tools

  • Yarn:
  • Alize Softy or Adelia Sofia: Beige (main color)
  • Alize Cotton Gold or YarnArt Jeans: Beige (for paws and muzzle) + any color for the scarf
  • Thread: For embroidering the face
  • Hooks:
  • 2 mm for cotton yarn
  • 2.5 mm for textured yarn
  • Knitting needles: 2.5 mm (for scarf)
  • Eyes: Safety eyes, 9 mm
  • Stuffing: Fiberfill
  • Other tools: Sewing needle for attaching details, scissors

Finish off and stuff the head. Insert safety eyes (9 mm) between rows 11 and 12. Attach the muzzle first for proper placement.

Hair Tufts

Using cotton yarn:

  1. Chain 18, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, work 16 sc, sl st into the last chain.
  2. Chain 20, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, work 18 sc, sl st into the last chain.
  3. Chain 22, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, work 20 sc, sl st into the last chain.

Finish off, leaving a tail for sewing.

  1. Chain 6, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, work 4 sc, 3 sc in the last chain, continue along the opposite side of the chain, work 3 sc, inc (12)

  2. Knit in stockinette stitch until the desired length is achieved.
