Free Crochet Tutorial: Bunny Keychain by @gab_toys
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to crochet a cute bunny keychain wearing a dress and a ribbon on its ear. This adorable amigurumi project is perfect for making little gifts or personal accessories. You can also make a boy bunny in pants or a fully monochrome bunny keychain.
Finished Size: Approximately 8-9 cm.
Materials and Tools:
- Yarn: YarnArt Baby (100% acrylic) or any thin yarn for amigurumi (color for the bunny and dress).
- Embroidery Thread: For the bunny’s face.
- Crochet Hook: 2.25 mm.
- Toy Eyes: 6 mm.
- Toy Stuffing.
- Buttons: For decoration.
- Ribbon: For the ear.
- Glue: For attaching the ribbon.
- Needle: For attaching details.
- Scissors.
Abbreviations:
- KA – Magic Ring

Legs (Make 2)
- 6 sc in KA.

6-9. 9 sc (4 rounds).
Stuff the leg. Fold in half and crochet 4 sc through both parts. Fasten off and cut the yarn.
Arms (Make 2)
- 6 sc in KA.

3-4. 9 sc (2 rounds).
Switch to the color of the dress.

6-8. 6 sc (3 rounds).
Stuff the arm. Fold in half and crochet 3 sc through both parts. Fasten off and cut the yarn.
Body
- 6 sc in KA.

- 24 sc.
- Crochet the first leg: 4 sc, 9 sc, crochet the second leg: 4 sc, 7 sc (24).
Switch to the color of the dress. - 24 sc.
- Crochet through the back loops only: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18).
9-10. 18 sc (2 rounds). - (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12).
Switch to the body color. - Crochet the first arm: 3 sc, 4 sc, crochet the second arm: 3 sc, 2 sc (12).
Stuff the body. Leave the yarn for attaching.
Skirt
Crochet through the front loops only in round 8 of the body:
- 24 inc (48).
- Ch 2, (3 dc, inc) x 12 (60).
Fasten off and hide the yarn ends.
Head
- 6 sc in KA.
- 6 inc (12)

- (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)

Fasten off and cut the yarn. Stuff the head.
Ears (Make 2)
- Ch 11, from the second chain from the hook: 9 sc, 3 sc in the same stitch, 8 sc, inc (22).
- Inc, 8 sc, 3 inc, 8 sc, inc, sl st (27).
Leave yarn for sewing. Fold the ear in half and sew it together with 2 sc.
Assembling and Finishing
- Create a slight indentation for the eyes between rounds 7 and 8 of the head.
- Attach safety eyes, spaced 3 sc apart (I used 6 mm eyes).
- Embroider the whites of the eyes with white thread.
- Embroider the eyelashes, eyebrows, and nose with black thread.
- Sew the ears to the head at round 3.
- Attach the head to the body.
- Decorate the dress with buttons.
- Tie a bow on the ear.
