Instructions:
1. Prepare the Bell Pepper Fries:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut the bell peppers in half, remove the seeds and ribs, and slice them into long strips, resembling fries.
- Place the bell pepper strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Toss the bell peppers gently to coat them evenly with the seasoning.
- Roast the peppers in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly charred on the edges. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
2. Assemble the Pizza:
- Once the bell pepper fries are done, remove them from the oven and arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the bell pepper fries.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the peppers.
- Add your desired pizza toppings—black olives, pepperoni, red onions—and finish off with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick if you like.
3. Bake the Pizza:
- Return the assembled pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bell peppers are lightly charred.
4. Serve and Enjoy:
- Once baked, remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil or parsley for an extra pop of flavor and color.
- Slice up your cheesy, bell pepper “fries” pizza and serve it as an appetizer, snack, or a fun meal.
