Toy Reindeer Amigurumi Free Pattern

I wanted to share a free amigurumi pattern with you here. In this article, I’ll provide a detailed step-by-step guide for one pattern. At the end, I’ll also share additional amigurumi patterns to inspire your creativity!

You Will Need:

  • Yarn: YarnArt Jeans (55% cotton, 45% acrylic, 50 g/160 m) in beige #07, white #03, brown #40, orange #85, gray #80
  • Yarn: YarnArt Iris (100% cotton, 20 g/138 m) in black #935 (for eyebrows)
  • Hooks: 2.0 mm and 2.5 mm
  • Safety Eyes: 8 mm
  • Soft Pastel Pencil: For cheeks
  • Needles and Pins: For assembly
  • Scissors: For cutting yarn
  • Stuffing: Polyester fiberfill

Finished Height: 14 cm (5.5″)

Arms (Make 2)

  1. With brown yarn: R 1: 6 sc in MR [6]
  2. R 2: (1 sc, inc) repeat 3 times [9]
  3. R 3: BLO 9 sc
  4. R 4: 9 sc
  5. Switch to orange yarn: R 5: BLO 9 sc
  6. R 6-12: 9 sc (7 rows)
  7. Fold the top opening flat and crochet on both sides: 2 decreases (2)
  8. Fo.

Ears (Make 2)

  1. With beige yarn: R 1: 6 sc in MR [6]
  2. R 2: (2 sc, inc) repeat 2 times [8]
  3. R 3: (3 sc, inc) repeat 2 times [10]
  4. Rows 4-5: 10 sc (2 rows)
  5. Row 6: (3 sc, dec) repeat 2 times [8]
  6. Fo and leave a long tail for sewing.

Muzzle

  1. With white yarn: Make 6 ch.
  2. Row 1: From 2nd ch from hook: 4 sc, 3 sc in last st, turn: 3 sc, inc [12]
  3. Row 2: Inc, 3 sc, 3 inc, 3 sc, 2 inc [18]
  4. Row 3: 18 sc
  5. Fo and leave a long tail for sewing.

Legs (Make 2)

  1. With brown yarn: R 1: 6 sc in MR [6]
  2. R 2: (inc) repeat 6 times [12]
  3. R 3: BLO 12 sc
  4. R 4: 12 sc
  5. Switch to beige yarn: R 5: BLO 12 sc
  6. R 6-9: 12 sc (4 rows)
  7. Crochet the second leg, do not finish off.

Make 2 ch and join the first leg.

Body

  1. R 1: 12 sc, inc, 14 sc, inc [30]
  2. Rows 2-4: 30 sc (3 rows)
  3. Change to green/red yarn: R 5: 30 sc
  4. R 6: 30 hdc (crochet around 6th row, see tutorial video at 12:24)
  5. R 7-11: 30 sc (5 rows)
  6. R 12: (3 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [24]
  7. R 13: 24 sc (add arms, see video at 13:55)
  8. R 14: (2 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [18]
  9. R 15: (1 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [12]

Head

  1. Switch to beige yarn: R 18: BLO (inc) repeat 12 times [24]
  2. R 19: (3 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [30]
  3. R 20: (4 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [36]
  4. R 21: (5 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [42]
  5. R 22: (6 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [48]
  6. R 23: (7 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [54]
  7. R 24-33: 54 sc (10 rows)
  8. Insert safety eyes between R 27 and R 28, 4 stitches apart.
  9. R 34: (7 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [48]
  10. R 35: (6 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [42]
  11. R 36: (5 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [36]
  12. R 37: (4 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [30]
  13. R 38: (3 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [24]
  14. R 39: (2 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [18]
  15. R 40: (1 sc, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
  16. R 41: (dec) repeat 6 times [6]
  17. Fo.

Horns (Make 2)

  1. Part 1: R 1: 5 sc in MR [5]
  2. R 2: (inc) repeat 5 times [10]
  3. R 3: 10 sc
  4. Do not cut the thread when you finish the second part.

Join the first part to the second with a sl st and continue crocheting:

  1. R 4: 3 sc, dec [16]
  2. R 5: 16 sc
  3. R 6: 2 sc, dec [12]
  4. R 7: 12 sc (2 rows)
  5. Fo and leave a long tail for sewing.

Scarf

  1. With gray yarn and 2.5 mm hook: Work 50 ch and join into a ring with sl st.
  2. R 1-3: BLO 50 sc, 1 sl st, 1 ch (3 rows)
  3. R 4: BLO 50 sc
  4. Fo.
