Amigurumi Octopus Keychain Free Pattern

Free Crochet Tutorial: Octopus Keychain by Alina Eryukova @do_bro_v_dom

In this tutorial, you will learn how to crochet a cute octopus keychain. For amigurumi, any plush yarn will work well, such as Himalaya Dolphin Baby or YarnArt Jeans. The entire toy is crocheted in one piece, and the tentacles are crocheted directly onto the body. For the face, you will need small pieces of white felt, safety half-bead eyes (or screw-on safety eyes), and black embroidery thread.

Crochet Pattern for the Octopus Keychain

Head and Body (same piece)

  1. 6 SC in KА (6)
  2. (Increase) x 6 (12)
  3. (1 SC, Increase) x 6 (18)
  4. (2 SC, Increase) x 6 (24)
    5-9. 24 SC (24) for 5 rows
  5. (2 SC, Decrease) x 6 (18)

Insert the eyes between rows 7 and 8, or simply count 3 rows from the bottom.

Tentacles

The tentacles will be crocheted from the front half of row 10.

  1. Start by chaining 4 ВП. In the second chain from the hook, crochet 3 SC. Then, make a slip stitch into the front loop of the next SC. Repeat this process until the row is completed. You will have 18 tentacles.
  2. In the remaining back loops: (1 SC, Decrease) x 6 (12)
  3. (Decrease) x 6 (6)

Close the hole, hide the yarn tail, and embroider the mouth and whiskers. Attach a decorative bow and the keychain attachment. If you don’t have a keychain attachment, you can crochet a chain of ВП of the desired length.
