Ingredients for Cheesy Taco Mac

For the Base:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or turkey for a leaner option)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning (or homemade blend)
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 cups (480 ml) beef or chicken broth
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 2 cups (200 g) uncooked elbow macaroni or small pasta

For the Cheesy Sauce:

  • 2 cups (200 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) shredded mozzarella (optional for extra creaminess)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) sour cream

Optional Toppings:

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Diced tomatoes or salsa
  • Sliced jalapeรฑos
  • Crushed tortilla chips
