Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions

Instructions:

1. Marinate the Steak:

  • In a bowl, combine the steak slices with soy sauce, cornstarch, and vegetable oil. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while preparing the other ingredients.

2. Mix the Sauce:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and beef broth. Set aside.

3. Stir-Fry the Steak:

  • Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat until hot. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  • Add the marinated steak in a single layer and stir-fry for 1โ€“2 minutes until browned but not fully cooked. Remove the steak and set aside.

4. Cook the Vegetables:

  • In the same wok or skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil.
  • Add garlic, ginger, and onions, and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the bell peppers and stir-fry for 2โ€“3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.

5. Combine Steak and Sauce:

  • Return the steak to the wok. Pour in the sauce and toss everything together.
  • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1โ€“2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the steak and vegetables.

6. Serve Hot:

  • Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with sliced green onions or sesame seeds, if desired. Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
